Behind every perfect frame is genuine craftsmanship – and this is precisely where the heart of Artrahmen beats. In our in-house frame workshop, we combine traditional craftsmanship with modern technology to transform every work of art into an individual, unique piece. Here, custom-made picture frames, passe-partouts and framings are created daily – precisely, durably and with attention to detail.

Behind the shop is our own frame workshop, where your pictures are made daily by our experienced staff on an area of around 150 square meters. Our many years of experience in the production of picture frames guarantees professional implementation of your wishes and ideas. From the cutting of the strips to the lamination, everything is created in-house – quality from a single source.

Our Workshop Services

We offer the entire spectrum of professional frame production: from classic wooden frames to aluminum profiles and custom-made products. Our services include:

In our workshop, we offer the entire spectrum of professional picture framing and frame design – individual, precise and tailored to your wishes. Each work is created with careful manual work and a trained eye for material, shape and color. We manufacture custom-made picture frames, cut passe-partouts, take over the mounting of works of art and also carry out frame restorations.
In addition, we offer preservative framing, in which your works are permanently protected with age-resistant materials and UV-protective glass. Special formats, object framing and multi-part compositions are also part of our daily craft. For exhibitions or companies, we realize series productions and combine efficiency with the highest precision. Whether wooden frames, aluminum frames or shadow gaps – each piece is manufactured and tested with the utmost care.

Materials and processing

The quality of a frame begins with the material. In our frame workshop, we exclusively use carefully selected woods, aluminum profiles and passe-partout cardboard, which meet the highest demands for stability, durability and aesthetics. Each strip is precisely cut, sanded, glued and then refined – whether natural, lacquered, stained or gilded. We also focus on diversity when it comes to glazing: from standard glass to white glass to anti-reflective museum glass with UV protection. This results in frames that are not only visually appealing, but also preserve your art in the long term.
Our workshop works with professional machines for millimeter-precise results – combined with craftsmanship experience that can be seen in every detail. Each workpiece is carefully checked before it leaves our workshop.

Craftsmanship and precision

For us, frame construction is not just a job, but a passion. Each of our employees brings many years of experience, a trained eye and manual dexterity. From the initial consultation to the final assembly, each project is individually supervised and precisely implemented.
With modern technology, traditional tools and manual precision, results are achieved that go far beyond standard framing.
Whether simple framing, complex object mounting or sensitive restoration – every detail counts. People work in our workshop, not machine chains: we see, feel and test every workpiece in detail. This combination of craftsmanship and precision makes the difference – and ensures that every frame becomes a piece of individual quality.

Tradition and Innovation

In our workshop, traditional craftsmanship meets modern technology – a combination that makes each of our projects unique. For many years, we have cultivated the art of classical frame making, where precision, a feel for materials and experience are crucial. At the same time, we use modern machines to achieve millimeter-precise results.
This combination of tradition and innovation enables us to implement individual wishes – from hand-gilded decorative strips to minimalist aluminum frames.
This results in frames that are manufactured to the highest standards both in terms of craftsmanship and technology. Each piece remains unique, supported by experience and a passion for detail. At Artrahmen, we combine the care of traditional craftsmanship with the precision of modern manufacturing technology.

About Artrahmen

Anyone who visits us in our shop immediately feels: This is a family business working with passion, experience and precision. On around 150 square meters, handmade frames are created every day, manufactured with the aim of individually showcasing every work of art and at the same time offering frames for every budget. Since its foundation in 1997, Artrahmen in Berlin-Schöneberg has stood for quality craftsmanship, personal advice and genuine Berlin craftsmanship.

Jana von der Beck Custódio now manages the company in the second generation – together with her husband, who has been responsible for frame construction and framing since 2012. The owner takes care of the advice in the store with a lot of empathy. For her, every conversation with customers is a creative process: “I have to find out what the picture is telling – and how we can reinforce this expression with the right frame. Ultimately, it’s about making the customer happy.” Room, light and budget play just as much a role as style and material.

The story of Artrahmen and its owner was also presented in the Berliner Morgenpost:
